Aspire, a community mental health agency and safety net provider for the State of Georgia, provides mental health, addiction recovery, crisis stabilization, and intellectual and developmental disability services across twelve counties in northwest Georgia.

 

We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing to join our leadership team to effectively manage the nursing department and to coordinate with other disciplines to provide quality care to the individuals we serve.

The Director of Nursing directs and coordinates all aspects of nursing, including, but not limited to, infection control, pharmacy, laboratory, quality assurance, medical records, and staff education. The director is also responsible for the maintenance of quality improvement activities in compliance with current licensing and accrediting policies and regulation. Other responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with other clinical leaders to ensure that policies and practices promote optimum patient care outcome.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards of government and regulatory agencies, such as CARF, DBHDD, HFR, Board of Nursing, etc.
  • Maintaining educational reinforcement to all medical staff. 
  • Strong ability to work with a team.
  • In depth knowledge of the community mental health system.

Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required (Master’s degree preferred)
  • A valid RN license
  • 5+ nursing supervisory experience
  • 5+ years experience as a mental health nurse preferred
  • Understand and embrace Recovery  
  • Must display an understanding of local, state and federal mental health laws and guidelines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with the team
